We'll be running a beginner leathercraft course on the 27th April 2024 at the beautiful Oxfordshire Museum - Nestled in the heart of Woodstock, across from the famous Blenheim Palace. 

The Oxfordshire Museum is the perfect spot to hold our beginner leathercraft course and even includes a free Lunch. 

This is a full day course and runs from 10:00 until 1600

You will learn:
Traditional saddle stitch
Marking, punching and cutting out leather
Bevelling and finishing edges
Setting snap closures
Setting saddlers rivet
Using a strap cutter
Braiding techniques
Understanding which leather to use for a project
Leather tools explained
10 students (max 12) with 2 instructors

Project 1 - Key holder
Your first project is a belt loop key holder where you will learn how to use a special tool to cut an even thickness straps, and install one of our British made traditional saddlers rivets and learn how to bevel and polish the edges.

Project 2- Card holder
Learn how to transfer patterns, stitch leather and use stitching irons to create perfectly even stitches. Take your burnishing to another level for a super shiny finish.

Project 3- Braided bracelet
Learn a braid often used for decorative straps and jewellery where the ends remain uncut and also learn how to install a snap closure.

Our lead instructor Aimee is a qualified teacher, a senior first aider and very understanding of anyone who may struggle attending because of a disability or who is ND so you will be in a safe and friendly environment If we can do anything to make attending the course easier then please contact us at info@sfleather.co.uk

Supporting Aimee is Pete - A great teacher for students wanting to learn more about dyeing and stamping, using computers for pattern design and setting up equipment such as laser engravers and 3d printers and how to use them.
Please note:
A full refund will be given if your place is cancelled within the 7 day cooling off period of the initial purchase or more than 90 days before the course date.
If the cooling off period falls within the 30 days leading up to the course you will only receive a 50% refund.
No refunds will be given for cancellations within 30 days of the course date if it is not within the 7 days cooling off period.
 For cancellations between 60 & 90 days before the course date, you'll receive a 50% refund.
At our discretion, as an alternative, we may offer a place at a future course if the cancellation is unavoidable. We do this in order to manage the course numbers to ensure we are able to run the course. If there are not enough places filled to run the course we may cancel the course and offer a full refund or an alternative date.
